EWU holds orientation for Spring 2026 freshers
East West University (EWU) held an orientation programme for newly admitted students of the spring semester 2026 on 22 January 2026 at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium on its Aftabnagar campus in Dhaka.
The programme aimed to help freshers integrate into the university's academic environment by familiarising them with the code of conduct, rules and regulations, and available academic and student support facilities.
The event was attended by Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the board of trustees and former governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Professor Dr Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of EWU. Deans of various faculties also addressed the new students.
In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the university's commitment to nurturing skilled, ethical and socially responsible leaders. They encouraged students to make meaningful contributions to national development and advised them to focus on developing as competent human resources during their academic journey at EWU.
Among others present were Professor Dr Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, pro vice-chancellor of EWU, and Air Commodore (retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, treasurer of the university.
Adding to the day's activities, the Department of Student Welfare organised a club fair featuring 23 student-run clubs. The clubs showcased their activities and initiatives through individual stalls, encouraging new students to engage in co-curricular activities alongside their academic pursuits.
