Remark-Herlan wins two awards at Cosmetica Dhaka
Remark-Herlan has been named the country's best cosmetics manufacturing company and received the best pavilion award at the three-day Cosmetica Dhaka exhibition.
Remark presented the awards at its pavilion on 5 September, the final day of the exhibition at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, according to a press release.
Squad Mind Global Ltd Chief Executive Officer SM Faisal Munim handed over the award crests to Remark Senior Operating Director Mizanur Rahman, Herlan Head of Marketing Habibullah Habib and other company representatives.
Faisal Munim said Remark's manufacturing facilities, pavilion design and professional presentation impressed the exhibition organisers.
"Remark's pavilion went beyond displaying products and showcased Bangladesh's capabilities and potential in the cosmetics industry," he said.
He added that feedback from participating companies, visitors, traders and entrepreneurs was considered when selecting Remark for the recognition.
Remark Director (Pharma) Sukanta Das said the awards represented an achievement for both the company and Bangladesh's cosmetics manufacturing sector.
"This is not just recognition for Remark; it is also recognition of Bangladesh's cosmetics manufacturing capabilities," he said.
"Being selected as the best among 58 companies from 16 countries will encourage local manufacturers to invest more in the sector."
Sukanta said Remark was working to ensure consumers' access to authentic products amid concerns over counterfeit and adulterated cosmetics.
"This recognition also places greater responsibility on us," he added.
Remark Senior Operating Director Mizanur Rahman said the recognition was particularly encouraging as the company was participating in the exhibition for the first time.
"It has encouraged us to bring our latest technologies and products to consumers with greater confidence. We also hope to highlight Bangladesh's growing capabilities in the cosmetics industry," he said.
Herlan Head of Marketing Habibullah Habib said Remark was seeking to expand its products beyond the domestic market.
"Remark is taking its products not only to the local market but also to consumers around the world. This recognition will make our journey ahead smoother," he said.
The Association of Skin Care and Beauty Products Manufacturers and Exporters of Bangladesh (ASBMEB) congratulated Remark on the achievement.
ASBMEB General Secretary Jamal Uddin said Bangladesh's capacity to manufacture cosmetics and personal-care products that meet international standards has increased.
"We hope Bangladesh will gradually move from being an import-dependent market to an exporter of cosmetics, following the path shown by Remark," he said.
Remark's pavilion attracted crowds on the exhibition's final day, with visitors showing interest in its cosmetics and skincare products.
Actors and models Nazifa Tushi, Sharlin Farzana and Shabnam Faria were among the visitors. They encouraged consumers to remain cautious when purchasing cosmetics to ensure product authenticity.
Remark also organised a "Spin and Win" activity for visitors.
Throughout the exhibition, the company displayed locally manufactured cosmetics and skincare products alongside its packaging, printing and ingredient capabilities.
Remark said entrepreneurs showed particular interest in its packaging and printing services and placed orders for packaging materials for their brands.
Remark Head of Packaging Mohammad Ali Reza said the company secured commercial orders in printing, packaging and corporate sales during the exhibition.
"New entrepreneurs showed particular interest in our packaging, printing and ingredient capabilities," he said.
He added that foreign buyers and companies also expressed interest in Remark's products and manufacturing facilities.
"Through discussions with companies and business representatives from different countries, we have created opportunities for new business partnerships and market expansion," he said.
Remark said it manufactured its cosmetics and skincare products using research and development (R&D), formulations that meet international standards, modern manufacturing technology, and quality-control systems.
The company currently exports products to markets including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and the Philippines.
Remark has also received ISO, cGMP, and BSTI halal certifications, as well as Green Factory Award recognition for its manufacturing and quality-control practices.
