Apu Biswas returns this Eid with Durbar

After a significant hiatus, acclaimed actress Apu Biswas is poised to reclaim her throne on the silver screen with the upcoming thriller, 'Durbar'. Directed by Kamrul Hassan Fuad, the film is officially slated for a prestigious release during Eid al-Fitr, marking one of the most anticipated cinematic comebacks of 2026.

The production, which commenced in December, recently unveiled a striking promotional poster that has ignited social media. The imagery features Biswas with a blood-smeared face and a haunting, enigmatic smile, striking a graceful yet chilling dance pose. 

This visceral departure from her traditional romantic roles suggests a gritty, suspense-driven narrative that promises to showcase a new dimension of her acting prowess.

Starring opposite the versatile Abdun Noor Shajal, the film also features Jannatul Noor and Sanju John in pivotal roles. With a screenplay penned by Abdullah Zahir Babu, Durbar aims to provide a high-octane alternative to the usual festive holiday fare. 

Industry insiders believe the fresh pairing of Biswas and Shajal, combined with the mystery surrounding the plot, will make it a formidable contender at the holiday box office.
