The Islami Andolan Bangladesh has postponed its scheduled national grand rally, originally set for 9 January, citing respect for the primary school recruitment examination on that day and the overall electoral environment.
The decision was taken today (2 January) at a regular meeting of the party's central committee, held under the chairmanship of its Ameer, Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, according to a press release.
The party had announced the rally on 25 December, with demands including the arrest of the killers of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, improvement of the law-and-order situation, and the establishment of a level playing field for the election.
