The case filed with Fatullah Model Police Station over the recent blast at the Baitul Salat Jame Mosque in Narayanganj has been handed over to The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

"As this case is complex and important, it needs further investigation with intensive monitoring. That is why the case has been handed over to CID," said Zayedul Alam, superintendent of police in Narayanganj, on Thursday.

The investigating officer of the case had been directed to hand over all the documents and evidence to CID, he added.

Meanwhile, a team of CID led by Narayanganj CID Inspector and newly appointed Investigation Officer Babul Hossain visited the mosque and the surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon.

During the visit, they collected information from the eyewitnesses to the incident as well as evidence related to the case.

After the blast at the mosque, CID conducted a shadow investigation into the incident and collected some evidence.

"If any organization is found guilty in the investigation, it will be brought under the law," said Babul Hossain.
