Khaleda Zia's condition unchanged, remains in same critical state: Rizvi
He also announced that the BNP has suspended all programmes for December due to Khaleda Zia’s health condition
The physical condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has not improved, and she remains in the same critical state under treatment, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said today (30 November).
"Khaleda Zia's physical condition has not changed. The medical board has not yet given any recommendation regarding her treatment abroad. No decision can be taken without the board's advice," he said at an emergency press conference at the party's Nayapaltan office.
He also announced that the BNP has suspended all programmes for December due to Khaleda Zia's health condition.
The party has urged the public to pray for her recovery.
Addressing the crowds gathering in front of the hospital, Rizvi said excessive public presence hampers medical activities.
"Everyone is requested not to gather at the hospital. Please pray for her from wherever you are," he said.
Rizvi added that BNP leaders remain in regular contact with Khaleda Zia's medical team, and the board is providing all updates regarding her condition.
The former prime minister was rushed to Evercare Hospital last Sunday after experiencing breathing difficulties.
She has long suffered from heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, liver cirrhosis, kidney complications and other ailments.
Yesterday, Khaleda's personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said her physical condition has remained unchanged for the past three days.
