3 injured as rival groups exchange fire over establishing dominance in B’baria
Locals rescued the injured and took them to the hospital for treatment
Three people were injured by gunshots during a clash between rival groups over establishing dominance at Kandipara intersection in Brahmanbaria city this evening (27 November).
The injured have been identified as Nazmul Ahmed Tutul, 36, Shihab, 30, and Saju Mia, all residents of the Kandipara area. Tutul and Shihab are currently receiving treatment at the District Sadar Hospital.
Md Azharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station, said the incident occurred due to an ongoing dispute between the Lion Shakil Group of Kandipara and the district Swechchasebak Dal convener Delwar Hossain Dilip Group over local dominance.
"Members of the Lion Shakil Group opened fire on the Dilip Group while they were in the area, resulting in injuries to Tutul, Shihab, and Saju," the OC said.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to the hospital for treatment, said the OC.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
