Al-Arafah Islami Bank holds workshop on RMG financing
Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC organised a day-long workshop titled "Ready-Made Garments (RMG) Financing" on 8 November 2025 at the bank's training institute.
Managing Director (Acting) Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan attended the event as chief guest, while Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Al Mamun was also present. The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of bank officials engaged in RMG and export-related activities.
In his speech, Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan said the ready-made garments sector plays a vital role in Bangladesh's economy. He urged officials to take proactive steps to expand new RMG business opportunities, recover overdue and classified investments, and ensure transparency, promptness, and strict adherence to Shariah principles in customer service.
He noted that financing the RMG sector not only contributes to the bank's profitability but also supports foreign currency earnings, employment generation, and overall economic growth.
The workshop was presided over by Md Abdur Rahim Duary, principal of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI). Senior executives of the bank attended the event, which was participated in by 56 officials from RMG and export-related sectors.
