A case has been filed today (3 November) under the Cyber Security Act with Shahbagh Police Station over the circulation of a distorted photo of Dhaka University (DU) Assistant Proctor and Assistant Professor of Public Administration Shehreen Amin Bhuiyan (Monami) on social media.

The case names activist Mujtaba Khondaker, writer Mohiuddin Mohammad, Ashfaq Hossain Evan, and Dhaka College student Nirab Hossain, along with several unidentified individuals, as the accused.
According to the case First Information Report (FIR), the first accused, journalist and activist Mujtaba Khondaker, edited and posted Monami's photo indecently on his Facebook account, adding the caption, "This is a professor of Dhaka University, wearing a bikini in the name of freedom of dress."
The second accused, writer and activist Mohiuddin Mohammad, allegedly described her as "fuel for sexual fantasy" and shared a photocard featuring her on his own Facebook profile, where indecent and defamatory remarks were also made.
The third accused, Dhaka College student Nirab Hossain, made indecent comments about her under a Daily Campus Facebook post, while the fourth accused, Ashfaq Hossain Evan, uploaded the edited indecent image on his own Facebook page.
The FIR further states that the continuous posting and sharing of such indecently edited photos and defamatory remarks have caused severe psychological distress to Shehreen Amin.
