2 bodies recovered from Badda flat
The deceased were identified as Saiful, 30, and Shakila, 28.
Police have recovered two decomposed bodies from a flat in the capital's North Badda's Purbachal 2nd lane area.
The deceased were identified as Saiful, 30, and Shakila, 28.
Confirming the matter today (2 November), Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibur Rahman said the bodies were found in a partially decomposed state inside a locked room on the third floor of the building.
"It appears the incident might be a case of murder," the OC said, adding, "The bodies have been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy."
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Gulshan division) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Tareq Mahmud said, "So far, we have learned that the victims were not a married couple, though there might have been a personal relationship between them."
He went on to say, "Whether it was a murder or not will be determined after investigation."
Tareq Mahmud added that the bodies had already started to decompose, producing a strong stench that prompted locals to alert police.
"Officers broke the lock and entered the flat, where they found the bodies," the DC said.
