BNP plans to form broader alliance with all anti-fascist forces: Salahuddin

BNP plans to form a broader alliance by bringing together all political parties engaged in the anti-fascist movement, said the party's Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed.
"Through this, we want to cross the bridge of the upcoming national election together. The anti-fascist unity is our greatest strength," he said.
"We are urging everyone to stay united and not let any division weaken this alliance ahead of the national polls," he added.
He made the remarks today (27 October) after paying tribute at the mausoleum of BNP founder and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal.
Led by Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, thousands of party leaders and activists gathered at Zia's mausoleum to pay their respects.
Regarding the BNP high command's meetings with potential candidates across the country ahead of the election, Salahuddin said, "We have spoken with qualified candidates for each constituency to maintain unity within the party. These meetings aim to strengthen coordination and solidarity among nomination aspirants."
He added, "We prayed for the prosperity of the country, its overall development, and a strong democratic state. President Ziaur Rahman realized the importance of uniting the youth of this nation and engaging them in nation-building — that's how Jubo Dal's journey began."
