Where is the future of Afghan refugees—Pakistan or Afghanistan?
Afghan refugees, who have taken refuge in Pakistan for more than four decades, are now illegal in their own home. Since the Soviet invasion in 1979, millions of Afghans have crossed the border and taken refuge in Pakistan. Some were born, some grew up, some were buried in this country. But now the Pakistani government has declared them 'illegal foreigners' and ordered them to leave the country. This has plunged nearly two million Afghan refugees into a new state of uncertainty.
