CHT citizen platform's hartal in Bandarban postponed
The organisation had earlier announced the hartal, demanding the implementation of its eight-point charter of demands.

The daylong hartal scheduled for tomorrow (13 October) in Bandarban, called by the Parbatya Chattogram Nagorik Porishod over eight demands including the repeal of the Chittagong Hill-Tracts Regulation 1900, has been postponed.
Md Shahjalal Rana, central office secretary of the organisation, confirmed the postponement this afternoon.
He said the decision came following discussions with senior officials of the Bandarban district administration. He, however, warned that tougher programmes would be announced later if their demands are not met by 30 October.
The organisation had earlier announced the hartal at a press conference on 9 October, demanding the implementation of its eight-point charter of demands.
The eight demands are:

- Increase the lease term of market funds and improve financial systems, including resuming suspended bank loans
- Establish environmentally friendly brick kilns, factories, and industries to support development and job creation
