Pubali Bank gifts two modern buses to BUET students

To enhance commuting convenience and comfort for students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Pubali Bank has gifted two modern buses.

A handover ceremony was held on Saturday (11 October) at the BUET Transport Pool premises, where Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank, handed over the symbolic keys to BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman. The programme was hosted by Professor Dr Arif Hasan Mamun, Director of DAR.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor said, "I am grateful to all officials of Pubali Bank who have considered the transport challenges of our students seriously and gifted these two buses. This gift is more than just vehicles—it is a significant support for the safe movement of our students and a symbol of the sincere bond we share. I hope Pubali Bank will continue to support the university's transport and developmental initiatives through their annual CSR funds in the future."

Addressing the students, Professor Dr Badruzzaman added, "I hope our students will use these buses responsibly and take proper care of them. These buses are not only for your commute but also a symbol of trust and a gesture of goodwill from Pubali Bank."

Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Pubali Bank, said, "I am extremely delighted and proud on this special day, not only as a bank official but also as a former student of this prestigious institution. Handing over these two buses to BUET is not just a formal act for me—it is a small expression of love, respect, and gratitude. I hope the talented students of BUET will benefit from this facility and take another step forward in serving the country. The ceremony was attended by BUET deans, the Director of the Student Welfare Department, the Registrar, faculty members, students, officers, and staff. Representatives from Pubali Bank included Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan, Deputy Managing Director; Ms Masuma Khatun, Deputy General Manager and Branch Manager of Shahbagh Avenue Branch; Farhana Haque, Assistant General Manager and Branch Manager of Shishu Park Branch; Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Assistant General Manager; and Yasir Arafat, Sales Manager, Card Business Division.
