Everything has an end: Palak at court premises
Former ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak commented that everything has an end while being escorted to court for a hearing in a July Uprising murder case today (8 October).
Addressing journalists at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court premises, he said, "Everything has an end."
Around 9:30am, police brought Palak and several other accused, including Bangladesh Workers' Party President Rashed Khan Menon, former Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Islam, and former textiles minister and Gazi Group Chairman Golam Dastagir Gazi, to court from the prison.
They were kept in the court lock-up before being taken to the courtroom under tight police security around 10:55am. Each of them was wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest.
As Palak was escorted upstairs, he made the remark to journalists.
When asked whether he planned to participate in the upcoming election, he shook his head and repeated, "Everything has an end."
The accused were later taken to the courtroom on the fifth floor of the CMM court for the hearing.
