Presidency, Curtin universities partner for global academic exchange

Presidency University, Dhaka, has signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Australia's QS-ranked Curtin University, establishing a long-term partnership in higher education and research.
The agreement was formalised at Curtin University's Malaysia campus, paving the way for global collaboration and enhanced opportunities for students.
The partnership will promote joint research, academic and student exchanges, skills development workshops, and interdisciplinary academic initiatives. It will focus particularly on STEM, business, and social sciences, with an emphasis on Curtin's flagship Energy Engineering programme. Under the MoU, Presidency University graduates will gain access to postgraduate opportunities at Curtin, including master's and PhD programmes.
Professor Dr Vincent Lee, President and Chief Executive of Curtin University Malaysia, and Professor Dr Md Anwarul Kabir, Principal Adviser to the Board of Trustees of Presidency University, signed the MoU. Professor Dr Tang Fi Ee, Dean of Learning and Teaching at Curtin, and Professor Dr Md S Adnan Khan, Director of Outreach and External Affairs at Presidency University, jointly coordinated the event.
Senior academics from Curtin attended the ceremony, including Professor Ir Dr Stephanie, Director of the Centre for New and Sustainable Energy Research and Venture, and Associate Professor Ir Dr Lim Chye Ing, Associate Dean for External Engagement. Presidency University was represented by Mr Jahid Hasan, Deputy Director and Head of Admissions and Public Relations.
Professor Dr Vincent Lee said: "This MoU will unlock new opportunities for both institutions and empower students with international exposure in emerging fields of research and education."
Professor Dr Kabir said: "We are committed to ensuring tangible outcomes from day one, as we strive towards mutual excellence in academia and research."
Professor Dr Khan added: "This strategic partnership expands our research footprint, strengthens international networks, and creates pathways for further study and global career placements for our students."
The agreement marks a significant milestone as Presidency University advances its mission to deliver world-class education and produce globally competitive graduates.
