UIU hosts govt–academia–industry conclave on ai and cyber security
United International University (UIU) hosted the "Future of AI & Cyber-Security: Govt-Academia-Industry Conclave 2025" on 20 September, convening over 250 technology professionals, policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders at its campus.
Keynote presentations by Professor Khondaker A Mamun and Professor Dr Shohrab Hossain addressed the future of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
A panel discussion titled "Industry-Academia-Government Dialogue on AI & Cyber Security" examined the integration of AI and cybersecurity in Bangladesh, featuring insights from senior industry and academic leaders.
Guests of honour included Mohammad Wahid Hossain ndc, Chairman of Bangladesh Energy & Power Research Council; Md Sibgat Ullah, Additional Inspector General and Chief of CID, Bangladesh Police; Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of The City Bank and Chairman of the Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB); and Dr M Rezwan Khan, Professor Emeritus of UIU and Chairman of Power Grid Bangladesh.
The conclave, chaired by UIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abul Kashem Mia, included senior academics, alumni, and students. After the sessions, attendees viewed demonstrations of practical AI solutions.
The conclave served as a platform for cross-sector dialogue, underscoring the strategic importance of AI adoption and cybersecurity preparedness in Bangladesh's digital transformation.
