Fakhrul urges all to remain vigil for peaceful celebration of Durga Puja
The BNP secretary general alleged that a vested interest group with an ulterior motive may create division and an anarchic situation in society through far-reaching conspiracies for political gain.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today (17 September) urged all, including the party activists, to remain vigilant to thwart any conspiracies and sabotage in a bid to disrupt the upcoming Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindus.
Extending warm greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion, he stressed maintaining communal harmony, a long-standing tradition in Bangladesh, according to a press release.

Fakhrul urged all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, to remain watchful and thwart any such malicious intentions.
"We have to strengthen that tradition (of communal harmony). The conviction must be kept intact," he added.
In this connection, he called upon the leaders and activists of BNP, its affiliated bodies and the general public as a whole to remain vigilant to ensure security at all puja mandaps across the country for the peaceful holding of the upcoming Durga Puja.
