Naogaon OC killed, wife injured as bus runs them over in Gazipur
The critically injured wife has been shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Naogaon district's Detective Branch (DB) police died, and his wife sustained critical injuries after a passenger bus in Gazipur city ran over them last night (5 September).
The deceased was Md Mostafiz Hasan, 52, confirmed Gazipur Metropolitan Police acting commissioner Md Zahidul Hasan.
The accident occurred at around 10pm in front of the District Police Lines along the Joydebpur–Shibbari road under the jurisdiction of Gazipur Sadar Police Station, which also left Mostafiz's wife Latifa Jasmine wounded.

Zahidul said Mostafiz and his wife were hit by a speeding "Pather Sathi" bus while crossing the road after he returned from a nearby shop and they were going to their car.
He added that the OC was declared dead upon arrival at Gazipur's Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, while his wife was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, locals and police near the District Police Lines detained the bus and its driver, Md Suman, who was taken into custody.
