Govt raises grants for treatment, funeral of public servants
Following a proposal from the welfare board and with the consent of the Finance Division, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification today revising the grant amounts.
The government has increased the financial assistance provided to public servants for medical treatment, funeral expenses, and other welfare purposes under the Bangladesh Employees Welfare Board.
Following a proposal from the welfare board and with the consent of the Finance Division, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification today (19 August) revising the grant amounts.
According to the notification, the medical assistance for complex and costly diseases has been raised from Tk2,00,000 to Tk3,00,000, while the grant for general treatment has been increased from Tk40,000 to Tk60,000.
The funeral grant for government employees has been raised from Tk30,000 to Tk50,000, and for their family members, from Tk10,000 to Tk20,000.
Additionally, the one-time group insurance grant has been increased from Tk2,00,000 to Tk3,00,000, and the monthly welfare allowance from Tk2,000 to Tk3,000.
The notification further states that the expenses must be managed within the allocated budget and existing resource ceiling, and no additional allocation will be provided.
