Mass transfers shake NBR as 41 more officials moved
Over 300 transfers in two weeks

Over the past two weeks, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has witnessed a sweeping wave of transfers and disciplinary actions in its field administration.
In the latest move, 41 more additional tax commissioners were transferred today. This followed a series of reshuffles in recent days.
On Monday, 131 assistant commissioners of taxes; on Sunday, nine commissioners from the customs cadre; on 13 August, 84 deputy commissioners of taxes and six commissioners; and on 12 August, 73 deputy commissioners from the customs cadre were transferred.
In total, more than 300 officers have been moved in less than a fortnight.
While reshuffles in NBR's field administration after the national budget are a regular practice, the sheer scale this year has drawn significant attention within the revenue administration.
Officials note that the changes come in the wake of recent protests by NBR staff.
Alongside the transfers, a total of 30 officers have been suspended after the protests, and five others have been sent on forced retirement.
Most recently, on Monday, nine officials were suspended for taking part in protests, intensifying a sense of fear and unease within the NBR.
