Exorcist reboots reportedly coming to theaters in 2021

Titled one of the greatest horror movies till date Exorcist is finally set to get a reboot. Deadline reports Morgan Creek Entertainment will release the feature in 2021.

However, considering its infamous reputation for being an outstanding horror feature, it's a surprise that it's been 47 years since the films initial release.

Even though, Exorcist has had 3 films and a series set in the same universe, it still hasn't been explored enough. In 2015, Exorcist's sequel Dominion was released. And recently a fox show was set in the exorcist universe.

The fox series was cancelled after two seasons but now this reboot may be another chance for the franchise. In Similar horror genre, Conjuring universe films have been a massive success, grossing almost $2 billion in total.

The reboot has surprised fans of the film as a 2015 tweet from the production company resurfaced, the tweet read, "For the record, we will never attempt to remake THE EXORCIST."

But fans aren't hung up on that. Audiences are already hyped after this recent revelation. Still, there has been no development in pre-production or casting. If it wants to meet the 2021 release date they must act quickly.

The 1975 Exorcist is based on a book written by William Peter Blatty. It depicts the story of a young girl as she deals with the possession of a demon
