2 die after consuming ‘toxic alcohol’ in Muradnagar
Tapan's body, however, had already been cremated before the police arrived

Two people have died after reportedly consuming toxic alcohol in the Bangra Bazar Police Station area of Cumilla's Muradnagar Upazila.
The incident occurred in the Bakhrabad area of Ramchandrapur North union today (13 August).
The deceased were identified as Tapan Chandra Sarker, 50, and Palash Chakraborty, 38, both from the South Bakhrabad village.
Confirming the incident, Bangra Bazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuzur Rahman said, "We have initially learned that two people died after drinking spirit-based alcohol from a homeopathy shop.
Palash's body has been recovered and will be sent to the Cumilla Medical College Hospital's morgue for autopsy on Thursday."
According to locals and police sources, Tapan and Palash fell ill after drinking spirit-based alcohol in the early hours of today. Family members took them to the Muradnagar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors pronounced Palash Chakraborty dead upon arrival.
Tapan Chandra Sarker, in critical condition, was referred to Cumilla Medical College Hospital, but he died on the way there.
Bangra Bazar Police later recovered Palash's body from the scene. Tapan's body, however, had already been cremated before the police arrived.
