Chinese Kaixi Group to invest $40m in Bepza EZ for intimate wear manufacturing
Under this project, the company will produce 18 million pairs of lingerie and undergarments annually, creating jobs for 3,003 Bangladeshi workers

Chinese investor Kaixi Group signed a new agreement today (11 August) to invest $40.05 million in the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) Economic Zone for manufacturing intimate garments and related accessories.
Under this project, the company will produce 18 million pairs of lingerie and undergarments and 20 million pairs of bra foam and bra cups annually, creating jobs for 3,003 Bangladeshi workers.
The agreement was signed between Bepza and Kaixi Garments Bangladesh Ltd, a subsidiary of Kaixi Group, at the Bepza Complex in Dhaka, reads a press release.
Member (Investment Promotion) of Bepza Md Ashraful Kabir and Chairman of Kaixi Garments Bangladesh Ltd Xiao Hongxi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Bepza Executive Chairman Maj Gen Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman witnessed the ceremony.
Welcoming Kaixi Group's latest move, the Bepza executive chairman said their decision to expand just 14 months after commencing operations demonstrates growing confidence among foreign investors in Bepza, especially within the Economic Zone.
Xiao Hongxi highlighted operational challenges, including the lack of nearby worker housing, which necessitates transporting workers from distant areas and delays morning attendance. Despite these issues, he reaffirmed Kaixi's commitment to Bangladesh and the Bepza Economic Zone.
Kaixi's first project in Bepza Economic Zone, approved in November 2022 with an investment of $60.85 million, began commercial production in June 2024 and currently employs approximately 3,700 workers. Together, their two factories—in Dhaka EPZ and Bepza EZ—have created around 6,000 jobs.
Senior officials of Bepza, including Member (Engineering) Md Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam, and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez, attended the signing, along with representatives from Kaixi Garments Bangladesh.
