SB warns of possible law and order deterioration ahead of July uprising anniversary
In an office order issued by SB’s political wing yesterday (28 July), police superintendents and city commissioners have been instructed to take precautionary measures to maintain stability

The Special Branch (SB) of police has warned that law and order across the country could deteriorate during the first anniversary of the student-led July uprising.
In an office order issued by SB's political wing yesterday (28 July), police superintendents and city commissioners have been instructed to take precautionary measures to maintain stability.
"Marking the historic July uprising anniversary, the government, political parties, and anti-fascist cultural organisations have been holding various programmes since 1 July. However, the period between 29 July and 8 August is very crucial," the order stated.
"During this time, the deported fascist forces may try to create anarchy across the country by conducting offline and online campaigns. Besides holding various activities nationwide and obstructing the anti-fascist programmes, the overall law and order may deteriorate," it added.
To ensure stability and protect lives and property, the SB has issued six directives. These include conducting special drives, checking suspicious individuals and vehicles, including buses and motorcycles, and ensuring heightened security at bus terminals, launch ghats, railway stations, airports, and adjacent areas.
The order also instructed law enforcers to carry out operations against individuals with outstanding arrest warrants, increase mobile patrolling, counter rumours through cyber monitoring, and strengthen intelligence activities.
