Indian police arrested a man for operating a fake embassy from a rented residential building near New Delhi in India today (24 July).
The suspect, Harshvardhan Jain, 47, impersonated an ambassador and allegedly promised overseas employment to unsuspecting victims, said Sushil Ghule, a senior officer from Uttar Pradesh's special task force, reports AP.
Police said Jain falsely claimed to be an adviser or ambassador to obscure entities such as "Seborga" or "Westarctica."
Authorities seized four vehicles with fake diplomatic license plates, about 4.5 million Indian rupees ($52,095), foreign currencies and numerous forged documents, including seals from India's foreign ministry and nearly three dozen countries.
