DGHS reduces Covid-19 test fees at private hospitals
From now on, private hospitals can charge a maximum of Tk500 for Rapid Antigen Test and Tk2,000 for RT-PCR test

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has revised the fees for Covid-19 tests at private hospitals in Bangladesh.
From now on, private hospitals can charge a maximum of Tk500 for Rapid Antigen Test and Tk2,000 for RT-PCR tests.
Earlier, the RT-PCR test at private hospitals cost Tk3000.
The revised fees were announced in a notice signed by Professor Dr Md Halimur Rashid, line director of Communicable Disease Control at DGHS, yesterday (2 July).
According to the notice, the decision was made during a meeting of the Committee on Covid-19 diagnosis and labratory managment held on 1 July. The committee unanimously agreed to revise the test fees at private healthcare facilities.
The notice also stated that no additional charges beyond the fixed rates will be allowed under any circumstances.
