Nahid declares Akhtar as candidate from Rangpur-4 seat in next parliamentary election
Nahid Islam said, Kawnia and Pirgachha upazilas will step into the mainstream of development and progress under the leadership of Akhtar Hossen

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has announced party member-secretary Akhtar Hossen as the candidate for the Rangpur-4 (Kawnia-Pirgachha) parliamentary constituency in the next national elections.
He made this announcement while addressing a roadside rally at Kawnia bus stand in Rangpur at 11pm yesterday (1 July) to mark the anniversary of the July Uprising.
Nahid Islam said, Kawnia and Pirgachha upazilas will step into the mainstream of development and progress under the leadership of Akhtar Hossen.
At that time, NCP's southern region chief organiser Md Hasnat Abdullah introduced Akhtar Hossen as a son of Kawnia.
NCP central leaders including its senior joint convener Samantha Sharmin and senior joint member-secretary Dr Tasnim Zara and others spoke at the rally moderated by northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam.
NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari and senior joint coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, among others, were present.
Earlier, NCP began July walkathon with a visit to the grave of martyred Abu Sayeed at his village Babanpur under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur.
They started the walkathon from the place where Abu Sayeed was shot by police in front of Begum Rokeya University to DC intersection in Rangpur city.
Later, the walkathon reached Kawnia upazila town and ended with the roadside rally at midnight.
