Jamuna Bank PLC appoints new Deputy Managing Director

Jamuna Bank PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mohammad Jahangir Alam as Deputy Managing Director (DMD), effective 1 July 2025.

Mr Alam brings over 20 years of distinguished experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, reinforcing the bank's strategic vision with deep industry insight, dynamic leadership, and a strong track record of success.

Before joining Jamuna Bank PLC, Mr Alam held the position of SEVP and Cluster Head of Public Sector, Public-Private Partnership (PPP), and Service Sector under the Wholesale Banking Division at City Bank PLC, where he served from May 2015. His career also includes key leadership roles such as Head of Structured Finance at City Bank and Head of Investment Banking at BRAC EPL Investments Ltd. Earlier in his career, Mr Alam served at Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) from 2004, where he progressed from Management Trainee Officer (MTO) to AVP and Senior Manager in the Structured Finance Unit.

An academic high-achiever, Mr Alam holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), with a specialisation in Environmental Engineering. He earned First Division with Star Marks in both SSC and HSC from Mirzapur Cadet College.

Mr Alam's appointment reflects Jamuna Bank PLC's commitment to bolstering its leadership with professionals who are capable of fostering innovation, accelerating growth, and enhancing service excellence.
