Export-import activities resume in Hili, Sonamasjid land ports

Export and import operations at Hili and Sonamasjid land ports resumed today (30 June) following the withdrawal of the complete shutdown by customs officials.
President of Hili Land Port Import-Export Workers Group Sakhawat Hossain Shilpi confirmed the resumption of operations today, saying all port activities, including the movement of imported and exported goods, resumed from 12:00 noon following the suspension of the shutdown programme by the NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad.
Echoing Sakhawat, the port's revenue officer Md Nazim Uddin said all operations at the port, including the import and export of goods, have restarted.
Meanwhile, Sonamasjid Land Port officials and employees also returned to work this morning, enabling the full restoration of operations.
Mainul Islam, manager of Panama Port Link Limited, the port's operating company, confirmed the resumption, saying that all import-export activities between Bangladesh and India restarted today after two days of complete shutdown.
The land port was fully inactive on Saturday and Sunday due to the nationwide strike called by NBR Sanskar Oikya Parishad in support of their reform demands.
As a result, no trucks entered from India, and no goods were exported during that time.
