Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Uzbekistan-based cargo airline My Freighter recently signed an interline agreement aiming to establish a faster and more efficient air cargo corridor between South Asia and Central Asia.

The agreement leverages the Bangladeshi flag carrier's wide regional network and My Freighter's dedicated freighter services from Dubai World Central (DWC) to Tashkent, according to Biman sources.

The new partnership enables cargo originating in Bangladesh to connect seamlessly via Dubai onto My Freighter's routes into Central Asia, said a Biman official.

The move is expected to improve access for key Bangladeshi exports — including textiles, pharmaceuticals, and high-value goods — to Central Asian markets, while significantly reducing transit times from Dhaka to Uzbekistan and neighbouring countries.

Biman's extensive network spans the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, with regular cargo flights to Dubai, a key global transit hub.

The collaboration allows for optimised multimodal cargo movement along a new Dhaka-Dubai-Tashkent corridor, covered by a single airway bill, reports aviation news portal, according to aviation news portal caasint.com.

Mamur Mamadaliev, first deputy CEO and CCO of My Freighter, told The STAT Trade Times that the airline aims to expand its fleet to between 30 and 50 aircraft by the end of 2026.

Currently, My Freighter operates eight Boeing 767 freighters and one Boeing 757F. Its most recent Boeing 767F was delivered in May.

Beyond its cargo operations, the airline also provides charter and passenger services under the Centrum Air brand, operating a fleet of Airbus A320, A320neo, A321neo, and an A330 aircraft.

Biman, meanwhile, operates a fleet of 20 aircraft, including Boeing 737s, 777s, and 787 Dreamliners, as well as De Havilland Canada DHC-8-400 turboprops.

The deal with Biman comes shortly after My Freighter announced a partnership with Icelandair Cargo.

That agreement extends My Freighter's reach into Northern Europe and North America, including the United States, allowing the carrier to offer new lanes for time-sensitive cargo such as seafood and perishables.

According to My Freighter, these partnerships reflect its strategy to build scalable, end-to-end logistics solutions linking Central Asia to key global markets, with a focus on sectors including apparel, healthcare, e-commerce, and high-value freight.
