Govt to ensure peaceful observance of ceremonies of all religions: Adviser Jahangir

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (27 June) hoped that people of all religions in Bangladesh will observe their religious ceremonies without fear or hesitation, emphasising that the current government will extend full support to ensure such freedoms.
"People across all faiths can celebrate their religious festivals with peace of mind. The government is committed to extending every possible cooperation to ensure the smooth observance of such festivals," he said.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the traditional Dhamrai Ratha Jatra festival, organised by the Jashomadhav Temple Management Committee, the adviser highlighted the substantial improvements in the law and order situation in the country.
He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the people, the situation could further be improved to a more satisfactory level.
The eight-day Rath Jatra festival, a vibrant and significant religious event for the Hindu community, was inaugurated with a colourful procession.
During the ceremony, the adviser extended his heartfelt greetings to the participants on behalf of the current interim government, wishing them a joyous and peaceful celebration.
