Sri Lanka dominate Day 2 after Bangladesh post 247

Sri Lanka took complete control of the second day, with only a late breakthrough from Bangladesh providing some relief. Umpires called stumps two overs early, shortly after Dinesh Chandimal's dismissal – the only consolation for the visitors on a largely one-sided day.
Bangladesh resumed their first innings in the morning with just two wickets in hand and managed to add 27 runs, ending on 247 all out. In reply, Sri Lanka's openers Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Udara put on a strong 83-run stand before lunch.
Post-lunch, Taijul Islam broke the partnership at 88, also managing to trouble new batter Chandimal early on. However, that would be Bangladesh's final breakthrough for a long stretch.

The second session passed without further success for the bowlers, and the third was heading towards a wicketless end until Chandimal, attempting a reverse sweep against Nayeem Hasan, was caught by Liton Das for 93. His dismissal ended a commanding 194-run partnership with Nissanka.
