Shah Rukh Khan turns his office into a 15-bed ICU facility

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's office has been turned into an ICU for critical patients.

Earlier on Shah Rukh gave his office in Khar to be turned into a quarantine center for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients, reported by Mumbai Mirror.

The work for the 15 bed ICU facility began on July 15. Khan made his 4 story building available to the BMC. It took a few months for them to convert the office into a quarantine facility and subsequently into a full-fledged ICU facility.

The 15-bed facility will be operational from today, in association with Khan's Meer Foundation, Hinduja Hospital in Khar and the BMC.

The space will have six beds with central oxygen facility on the first floor and five ICU beds and four standby beds on the second floor.

66 patients were admitted to the quarantine center, among which 54 were discharged after a full recovery. Though, when the quarantine facility underwent upgrades 12 patients were transferred to other centers.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are working hard to help the people amid the pandemic. On April 24, the couple announced initiatives to help the state in the ongoing crisis.

Many believe, the new ICU facility being packed with ventilators and necessary equipment will play a critical role in saving the lives of countless patients.
