The government is going to form a special committee to ensure uninterrupted power and gas supply to industries including garments factories.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the remark today at a workshop organised by the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council in Dhaka.

"Factories are not getting a proper supply of power and gas, even though we have the capacity to produce the required power," the state minister added.

He further said that the committee will be formed to find a solution because businessmen have been complaining for a long time over this issue.

The prime minister's Energy Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, among others, addressed the programme.
