On Friday, the jail authorities suspended six jail guards including the head jail guards in this connection. A divisional case was filed against them over the issue.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohamamd Anwar Hossain, said police are trying to trace Abu Bakar Siddique.

The jail authorities have strengthened security measures at the prison area.

Abu Bakar Siddique, who was sentenced to life term imprisonment, escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail-2 on Thursday.

Jail Super Jahanara Begum came up with the information saying that Abu Bakar remained missing since the evening.

Siddique, hailing from Abad Chandipur in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira, was shifted to the Kashimpur Central Jail from Rajshahi as a death-row convict in 2011.

On July 27, 2012, a court commuted the death sentence and gave him life imprisonment in a case.

Earlier on May 13, 2015, Abu Bakar went into hiding inside the jail. Later, the jail authorities found him inside a septic tank the following day.
