Probe committee formed, 4 railway staff suspended over Kalurghat bridge train accident
The investigation committee has been tasked with submitting its report within the next three days
A four-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the recent train accident that killed at least three people on the Kalurghat Bridge in Chattogram last night (5 June).
In the initial response to the incident, four railway personnel have also been temporarily suspended.
The suspended individuals include Sohel Rana, guard of the "Parjotok Express" train, Loco Master Golam Rasul, Assistant Loco Master Amin Ullah, and temporary gatekeeper Mahbub.

The investigation committee has been tasked with submitting its report within the next three days.
The committee is led by the divisional transportation officer, Chattogram, and also includes the DME (Loco), Chattogram, the divisional engineer-1, and the divisional medical officer, Pahartali, Chattogram.
The incident occurred around 10pm last night, when the "Parjotok Express" train, which had departed from Cox's Bazar, was crossing the Kalurghat Bridge.
A number of vehicles reportedly got onto the bridge without adhering to signal regulations, resulting in a collision with the train.
At least three people were killed and several others critically injured due to the accident, Chandagaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Aftab Uddin confirmed to The Business Standard.
One of the deceased was identified as Md Tushar, 25, from East Gomdandi of Chattogram's Boalkhali.
He was the driver of the affected CNG auto-rickshaw that was hit by the train.
Two other deceased include a two-year-old child.
Md Nejam Uddin, station master (in-charge) of Jan Ali Railway Station, told TBS that the accident occurred due to the locomaster's negligence.
The authorities are continuing their investigation, and further action is expected based on the committee's findings.
