Country's law and order situation is very good: Home adviser
While visiting the Gabtoli bus terminal earlier, the adviser responded to a journalist’s question by saying that he had not yet received any complaints about ticket overpricing

The overall law and order situation in the country is very good, said Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury while seeking everyone's cooperation to maintain it.
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters after visiting the Gabtoli cattle market today (5 June).
"This year, the prices of sacrificial animals are relatively reasonable. I feel the prices are slightly lower compared to last year. We have an adequate supply of cattle, so buyers should not face any problem," the adviser said.
In response to a question about sellers charging extra money for space in the cattle market, Adviser Jahangir said, "No one is allowed to charge separately for space. We have made this clear in our meetings as well."
He added, "Earlier, pockets were filled with money from corruption. Now that there's no more black money, people can't afford to buy large cattle. Especially those who used to have black money would buy the biggest animals. Now buying such large animals has become difficult. Still, many honest earners and legitimate businessmen are buying big cattle."
He also said there are sufficient sacrificial animals in the market. There is no shortage of cows. No one will have any problem buying sacrificial animals.
'If discipline is followed, both law and order situation and traffic congestion will be under control'
If everyone follows discipline and works patiently, both law and order situation and traffic congestion will be under control, said the home adviser also said after visiting the Gabtoli Bus Terminal earlier this afternoon, according to a press statement issued by the home ministry.
"If everyone cooperates, the law and order situation will improve, and traffic congestion will also be under control. Therefore, I would like to request everyone to follow the rules in all areas - driving cars, bringing and taking trucks carrying sacrificial animals, and pedestrians crossing the road. And encourage others to follow the rules too. However, just as discipline will be maintained on the roads, the law and order situation will also be under control," he said.
He mentioned that this time the government is collecting fares at the fixed rate according to all transport charts. "So far, no complaints have been received in this regard."
The adviser responded to a journalist's question by saying that he had not yet received any complaints about ticket overpricing.
"If any complaint is made, it will be addressed," he said.
He also warned of strict actions if anyone charges extra fares during the Eid travel rush.
The adviser said, "Many cattle carts are entering Dhaka from outside Dhaka, and it is also raining. Therefore, some traffic jams have been created at the entry and exit points of Dhaka. However, our traffic department is alert and active in this regard. The situation will improve very soon.
He said there is no lack of security on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. "The law and order situation is good. It needs to be continued and improved further."
The advisor also visited Mirpur and Kafrul police stations in the capital and the Public Order Management (POM) located in Mirpur.
