The government has taken initiatives for the quick disposal of the waste of sacrificial animals to ensure environmental safety on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul Adha.

The concerned authorities also have requested all to preserve the hide of the sacrificial animals through an appropriate process, said an official handout issued today.

The decisions were taken at a recent inter-ministerial meeting held at the conference room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs with Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain in the chair.

During the meeting, Imams of all mosques in the city were instructed to raise public awareness before the khutba about proper waste disposal at sacrificial animal markets and the preservation and management of animal hides.

Necessary directives will also be given to the concerned Madrasah authorities about the preservation of hides of sacrificial animals through proper use of salt.

To mark the holy Eid, a decision has been taken to hoist national flags at different public and private establishments and banners inscribed with Eid Mubarak also will be installed at main roads and road islands in the city.

Arrangement also will be made for the poor children to visit Shishu Parks under the Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporations and various tourist spots in the city without tickets on the Eid day.

Besides, friendly football matches will also take place in the city and children's Eid reunion will be held at the Shishu Academy.

The main Eid jammat will be held at the national Eidgah at 7.30am if favorable weather conditions prevail. However in case of inclement weather, the main Eid-ul Adha jammat will be held at Baitul Mukarram Mosque at 8am.

If any changes occurred in the Jammat time, it would be aired on the electronic media.

Invitations also will be given to the diplomats of the Muslim countries for participating in the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah. A special medical team also will be standby at the Eidgah during the jammat.

Different state-owned and private media, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television, will broadcast special programmes on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul Adha.

Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik also sought cooperation from all quarters for implementing the Eid-ul Adha programmes.
