2 killed after being electrocuted in rainwater in Ctg building basement

Two people died after being electrocuted in stagnant rainwater at a residential building on MM Ali Road in Chattogram's Chawkbazar area on Sunday morning (18 May).
The victims were identified as Mohammad Tayyab, 50, a security guard of the building, and Md Rabiul, 14, a tenant.
Officer-in-Charge of Chawkbazar Police Station Jahidul Kabir said heavy overnight rain had caused water to accumulate in the basement of the building "Bashar Villa".
"When the victims entered the waterlogged area in the morning, they were fatally electrocuted after coming into contact with a live wire," he said.
Sub-Inspector Nurul Alam Ashek of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital police outpost confirmed that the two were brought to the hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.
