Bangladesh Bhumiheen Andolon and Rastro Songskar Krishak Andolon on Sunday (18 May) submitted a memorandum to the chief adviser demanding the formation of Agricultural Reform Commission.

Hasnat Kaiyum, chief coordinator of Rastro Songskar Andolon, submitted the memorandum.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Bhumiheen Andolon and Rastro Songskar Krishak Andolon jointly organised a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club.

During the rally, they also placed a memorandum with an 8-point demand to the Chief Adviser.

Addressing the rally Hasnat Kaiyum, said, "64% of people in Bangladesh are landless. Still, at least 70% of the population is engaged in agriculture or agriculture-related professions. Marginalised people have played the most significant role in various movements."

He also urged the government for immediate establishment of an Agricultural Reform Commission and to deliver a roadmap for justice, reform and elections.
