Emirates becomes world's most profitable airline

Emirates Airline achieved its highest-ever profit for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.
Simultaneously, it moved to the top position in the global ranking of the most profitable airlines. During this period, the airline's profit before tax totalled $5.8 billion, representing a 20 per cent increase from the previous year.
Emirates Group, comprising Emirates Airline, dnata, and other subsidiaries, today, May 8 2025, released its annual report for the fiscal year 2024-25 in Dubai. The Group has achieved record profits during this time and new records in EBITDA, revenue, and cash balance. The Group's profit before tax is $6.2 billion, an 18 per cent increase compared to the previous year. The Group's revenue reached $39.6 billion, representing a 6% increase from the prior year. The cash asset amount has increased by 13 per cent, currently at $14.6 billion in US dollars. EBITDA has increased by 6 per cent, reaching $11.5 billion, which reflects the Group's strong operational profitability.
Apart from recording record profits, the Group's key subsidiary, Emirates Airline, has also achieved $34.9 billion in revenue, a 6 per cent increase from the previous year. The airline has its highest-ever cash assets, amounting to $13.5 billion, a 16 per cent increase compared to last year, ending March 31, 2024.
Emirates Group has also announced a dividend payout of $1.6 billion to its owner, the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
Emirates Airlines' total passenger and cargo carrying capacity has increased by 4% compared to the previous year. During this period, the airline carried 53.7 million passengers, representing a 3 per cent increase of the prior year. Emirates' cargo division, Emirates SkyCargo, transported 2.3 million tonnes of cargo worldwide during this period, a 7 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
Currently, the Emirates Group has its highest ever number of employees at 121,223, which is 9 per cent more than the previous year. To meet increased demand and with an eye on the future, Emirates and dnata conducted extensive recruitment drives worldwide last year.
