Banking sector: Women’s workforce expands to 17.57%
At the end of December 2024, the number of women employees in Bangladesh's banking sector grew by 9.55%, reaching 37,649, up from 34,368 in June 2024. While their contribution to the sector's workforce increased slightly to 17.57% from 16.53%, it remains low. Meanwhile, only 9.73% of women bankers hold top positions, pointing to the persistent gender disparity in leadership roles.
