Man with criminal record stabbed to death in Dhaka, associate arrested

Police yesterday (24 April) recovered the body of a 20-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Jibon alias Boba—an accused in eight criminal cases including theft and robbery—from beside the railway line adjacent to Karwan Bazar in the capital.
The recovery of the injured body followed a call to the national emergency service number 999.
"Upon receiving the call, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the bloodied body from the east side of the railway line. The victim had multiple stab wounds," said Tejgaon Industrial Police Station Officer-in-Charge Gazi Shamimur Rahman.
His body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for an autopsy this morning.
Police said Jibon hailed from the Tarati area in Jamalpur's Dewanganj. He was reportedly involved in theft and robbery in the Karwan Bazar area in Dhaka.
Mobarak Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Police Station, said preliminary investigation suggests Jibon was stabbed by one of his associates in front of a restaurant in Karwan Bazar. He was rescued from the scene, but succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
"The main accused in the murder, identified as Asif alias Ashik Hossain, has already been arrested," the police official added.
There was a previous dispute between them over the dole-out of money from their criminal activities that led Ashik to stab Jibon, he said.
