Police have arrested Zahed Khandaker, joint general secretary of the Duptara Union Jubo League in Araihazar Upazila, from the office of  Al Amin, former president of Bandar Thana Chhatradal in Narayanganj.

The Jubo League leader was arrested from the office of the Chhatradal leader in the Madanpur area of ​​Bandar this afternoon (23 April), Dhamgar Police Outpost Inspector Mujahidul Islam confirmed to The Business Standard.

"Zahed was arrested from inside Al Amin's office, located next to Madanpur Rahmania High School," said the inspector.

Zahed is the son of Abu Sayeed Khandaker of Panchgaon Monihar village in Duptara union of Araihazar upazila.

Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station, said, "Zahed is accused in multiple cases, including murder. We have informed the Araihajar Police Station about the matter. He will be handed over to that police station very soon."

Meanwhile, Al Amin said he was not informed of the matter and claimed it was a 'propaganda' attempt by his opponents.

"I know nothing about this. I am currently a candidate for the general secretary of the metropolitan unit of the Chhatradal. My opposition party is deliberately spreading this propaganda," he said.
