Air Astra prepares to launch international flights, seeks aircraft proposal

Private Bangladeshi airline Air Astra is gearing up to begin passenger operations on international routes. As part of this expansion, the airline has issued a public notice yesterday via its official website and social media platforms, inviting proposals to acquire three to four Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft.
Speaking to The Business Standard, Shakib Hasan Shuvo, Deputy Manager of Air Astra, said, "We are working to open international flights on routes to Nepal and Phuket. After acquiring the aircraft, we will proceed accordingly."
The proposals are sought on a dry lease, operating lease, or direct purchase basis.
Air Astra clarified that only genuine leasing companies or airlines with their own aircraft are eligible to participate in the process. Proposals from brokers or intermediaries will not be accepted, even if they hold a mandate.
Interested companies have been requested to download the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents from a specified link and submit their proposals within the given deadline.
If Air Astra manages to acquire the aircrafts yon time, the airline aims to commence international flights by 2025.
Having launched flight operations in 2022, Air Astra has already established a strong presence in the domestic aviation market. It currently operates flights on routes including Dhaka, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Saidpur, and Jashore. With its entry into international routes, the airline is stepping into a new chapter of growth and business expansion.
