AIUB celebrates Pahela Baishakh 1432

On the occasion of the Bengali New Year 1432, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised a vibrant day-long celebration titled "AIUB Baishakhi Utsab 1432 "at its permanent campus.

As part of this heartfelt celebration, the entire university premises came alive with colours and the spirit of traditional Bengali culture.

The festivities featured Baul songs, folk music, band performances, a rural fair, and a cultural show presented by the AIUB Performing Arts Club. One of the event's main highlights was the live musical performances by renowned artists Bappa Mazumder, Minar Rahman, Tahsan, and Pritom Hasan. Students played a key role in representing the heritage of rural Bengal through colourful stalls and exhibitions.

The fair showcased traditional food, handicrafts, clay toys, jute products, and various other elements of folk culture. The campus was beautifully adorned with vibrant alpine (folk art designs) and Pahela Baishakh-themed motifs created by students to welcome the New Year.

Ms Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Honourable Chairperson of the AIUB Board of Trustees, inaugurated the celebration. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Saiful Islam, Members of the Board of Trustees, faculty members, officials, and students were also present.

Through this celebration, AIUB continues to play a pioneering role in introducing the new generation to the richness of Bangladeshi culture and tradition.
