Mohila Samity cancels stage play of ‘Shesher Kabita’ amid threat from ‘Tawhidi Janata’
Theater workers have announced a sit-in programme in front of Mohila Samity at 5:30pm, protesting the cancellation of the play

Following a threatening letter allegedly from a group identifying itself as "Tawhidi Janata," the scheduled two-day performance of the stage play 'Shesher Kabita' has been cancelled.
The show was set to take place today and tomorrow at Mohila Samity auditorium on Bailey Road.
However, Mohila Samity authorities withdrew the auditorium allocation to the theatre group Pranganemor after receiving the letter.
"We had finalised all arrangements and were ready to perform. This morning, we were informed about the cancellation due to alleged threats from 'Tawhidi Janata'," Nuna Afroz, director of the play, told the media today (13 April).
Expressing her dismay after the cancellation despite all preparations, Nuna Afroz posted on Facebook this morning, asking, "Cultural community and conscious people of the country, tell me, what should I do? Will this continue?"
According to media reports, the threatening letter stated that "Tawhidi Janata" would not accept responsibility for any vandalism at Mohila Samity during the play.
To protest the cancellation of the play, theater workers have announced a sit-in programme to be held at 5:30pm in front of Mohila Samity today.
