Youth arrested in Munshiganj for alleged gang-rape of young woman
The incident came to light after a video of the incident was circulated on social media

Police today (13 April) arrested a youth for allegedly gang-raping a young woman in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj.
The incident took place on 28 March, however, the victim's father filed a case at Tongibari police station on Saturday night.
Police arrested the main accused, Noyon Molla, 20, from his home in Abdullapur.
According to the case statement, the young woman was once in a relationship with Noyon but later got involved with another young man named Siam. After she had a quarrel with Siam, Noyon invited her to his house, saying he wanted to help settle the issue.
When she arrived, he allegedly raped her. Four others — Md Jibon Sheikh, 20; Apon Bepari, 19; Arman, 18; and Miraj, 19 — who had been hiding inside, recorded the incident.
They then used the video to threaten the woman before taking turns raping her as well, according to the case.
Out of fear, the victim did not report the matter initially. The incident came to light after the video was circulated on social media on Friday.
"This is a case of planned rape. One accused has been arrested and has confessed during the initial interrogation. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects," said Additional Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman.
