Kishoreganj's Pagla Mosque collects record Tk9.17 crore in donations
On 30 November last year, the authorities found Tk8.21 crore in 10 donation boxes and a tank after opening those after three months and 14 days

The Pagla Mosque authorities in Kishoreganj counted a staggering Tk9.17 crore from its donation boxes today (12 April).
The counting concluded at 6pm and the announcement was made by Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Fauzia Khan, also president of Pagla Mosque Management Committee.
As in previous occasions, foreign currencies, coins, and gold ornaments were also found from the donations.
The mosque's 11 iron donation boxes were opened at 7am in the presence of DC Fauzia Khan and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury.
After 4 months and 12 days, 28 sacks of donated money were retrieved and taken to the second floor of the mosque for counting.
The process involved mosque management members, madrasa and orphanage staff and students, as well as officials from Rupali Bank.
"We had hoped to surpass previous records — and it happened," said DC Fauzia Khan.
She said the funds will be used to support various social welfare initiatives, including donations to local mosques, madrasas, and orphanages.
According to Pagla Mosque Management Committee, the mosque currently holds Tk8.07 crore in its bank account.
During the previous count on 30 November last year, Tk8.21 crore was collected.
